Description

In consideration of the approach of Hurricane Florence and the safety of all participants, Stratford Hall has cancelled this weekend’s Wine and Oyster Festival.  This decision is not made lightly as the festival is Stratford’s largest public event of the year and many people have already devoted time and resources to its success.  However, the anticipated impact of Florence makes the responsible course of action clear. Individuals who have pre-purchased a ticket to the festival will receive an email with information on how to request a refund.

Additionally, Stratford Hall will be closed to the public beginning this Friday and through Sunday, with re-opening anticipated on Monday next week, subject to conditions post-Florence.

We apologize for any inconvenience and encourage visits to our web site, www.StratfordHall.org, to view a list of future Stratford Hall events that may be of interest.

We hope that everyone is safe throughout the storm and its aftermath.

If you love the combination of great wines, delicious local seafood and fine crafts and artisans, mark your calendar for September 15 and 16! The festival will be from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day. This popular event features wines from Virginia wineries and oysters from Chesapeake Bay and Tidewater oyster growers. Online ticket sales end at 5 pm on Thursday, September 13, 2018. Tickets will be available for purchase at the gate.

This year’s festival will have it all – fun and history! There will be FREE admission to the Great House, Treakle’s train barrel rides, and Westmoreland County Miniature Farm Animals! There will be car shows on both Saturday (Mustang Car Clubs) and Sunday (Memory Lane Car Club). Live music will be provided each day by a line-up of local bands and solo musicians. Transportation will be provided from the parking lots by Bay Transit and Trolley.

Not a fan of wine? This year’s festival will also feature Virginia breweries! There will also be tastings offered of a variety of Castle Brands liquors.
